Year Five engrossed in a sci-fi fairytale!

Year five this term have been reading ‘Cinder’ by Marissa Meyer. They’ve been reading it together as a class and this has been the base for the teaching of reading in year five.

There is a real buzz around the year group as children question who the characters REALLY are and if the sci-fi tale will follow the plot of the fairytale… who knows?

Here is just some of the work that we have completed based on Cinder. More updates to come soon! We’re also planning to share our learning with the author of ‘Cinder’, Marissa Meyer – how amazing would it be if she saw the work from Riders?!? Keep it up guys!

    • We have been amazed by your book because of the detail of the characters and the actual storyline so we decided to work and write about the book by making pictorials for the chapters and writing about the personalities of the characters. From Thomas

In are class we have got up to chapter 16. My favourite carter is cinder because she has been a very good friend to prince Kai

How many book’s have you wrote?

  2. Thank you very much, we are enjoying Cinder so far. We are only on chapter 14 at the moment so we know that the emperor is near death and the Luna’s are acting strange!

We predict that Dr Erland is a Luna because he has, on occasions, made Cinder act in a different way than she wanted to. We do not trust Dr Erland because he cares more about experimenting on people/cyborgs then people’s feelings, it seems.

We look forward to finding out more about these characters and what will happen next! 🙂 This is a brilliant book!
