The Elephants have had such a brilliant day at the farm today! Miss Rooney is so proud of everyone’s super sensible behaviour. We can’t wait to show you all the pictures!
First we got on the coach…

Then we got to hold and stroke some animals!

Next we were lucky enough to ride on the farmer’s tractor! It was so bumpy, we all had the best time!

After that we met some more animals. We even got to feed some goats and kids. Look how brave we all were!

Our last job was to collect an egg each for the farm shop. Ask us which animal lays a brown or a white egg…

Finally it was lunch time! We made sure to wash our hands after touching all the animals and even got to use a germinator to check we had used the soap properly.

After lunch we played in the park before getting the coach back to school.

What a wonderful day we have all had! It is so hard to choose the best bit. Which was your favourite part of the day?

See you tomorrow so we can talk about our amazing experience! Love Miss Rooney

Mrs Clayton was so proud of all the Meerkats when we went to Longdown activity farm. They behaved beautifully and looked after their grownups very well.

GUESS WHO SAVED THE DAY TODAY?

In Early Years this week we have been busy writing to batman because Eddie and Morris have been stuck on the roof!

We asked him to help us get them down. We had to use our phonics to read the clues he left and eventually we found him…

See you Monday for the farm everyone, we can’t wait for an amazing trip!
Happy Friday 🙂

What an EGGcellent week in Early Years…

WELL what a week we have had in the Early Years!

Last Monday we had a special delivery…

We were excited to find out lots of information about eggs and the different animals that lay them. It didn’t take long for the mystery to be revealed!

BUT on Monday we came in to school to find such a mess in our classrooms. The teenage mutant ninja turtles accused us of stealing their eggs! Of course, we have chick eggs not turtle eggs!

The next day you will not believe who had sent us a note…

SHREDDER! He then sent us clues the following few days so that we could prove our ninja powers.
First we had to prove we are all ninja readers by decoding his secret messages. (Of course we all are!)

The next day we had to order our numbers – easy peasy!

Finally today he sent us clues to read on our treasure hunt…

Thank goodness the Elephants and Meerkats are so amazing at reading and ordering numbers because we found those pesky turtle eggs eventually, lucky for the ninja turtles!

Have a lovely bank holiday and see you on Tuesday for more fun!

What a lovely day for a bug hunt!

We have been obsessed with bugs and mini-beasts this week in Early Years!

It all started when one of the children bought in a book to share their interest in bugs. Now we are bug detectives and have been learning facts about mini-beasts and searching the playground to find them!

(Don’t worry, we put them back safely after…)

If your child has any books or experiences they would like to share, please bring them in as we love to hear about their interests!

See you tomorrow bug hunters! 🙂

We have had a fabulous day dressed up as our favourite book characters. Have a look at our wonderful costumes!

Some of us even went on a trip to the post box to post a letter to the evil witch…ask us what she has done!

Have a brilliant Easter break & we hope you keep your book characters reading!

This week the Elephants and Meerkats have been thinking about how to stay healthy. We have thought about healthy and unhealthy foods, exercising and when to wash our hands to avoid germs!

Today we made some fruity milkshakes for our milkshake party! Ask us why fruit and milk are good for our bodies.

Have a happy healthy weekend everyone!

What an exciting week in Early Years!

We were surprised with a present at the beginning of term…

We researched lots of creatures that could live in our tank and we have been writing to the fish man to ask him if we could visit.

This week some of us went to see and even buy some fish! What an exciting few weeks.  Our teachers have been so impressed with our hard work & sensible behaviour.

See you Monday everyone! Hopefully those fish will behave…

This week Early Years have been defending the school from the Evil Pea! Take a look at his awful tricks.

We wrote lots of notes to warn him off telling him to stop and leave us alone!

Some of us even mashed those evil peas….

And some of us cut up some veggies!

Have a wonderful and safe half term everyone!
Remember to check your freezer for escape-peas!

This week Elephants and Meerkats have been reading Supertato! What a great week it has been.

We have been making our own super veggies, acting out the story and writing to Supertato.

Today we cut open and tasted different fruits because we were talking about their seeds.

Some of us tried grapefruit, pomegranate, melon, mango, pineapple, and even lime!

Remember, some vegetables are frozen for a very good reason….
