Positional Language in Maths

Within our maths sessions last week we focussed on using position words- on top of, under, next to, in front of, behind, in between and inside. To help us use and understand these words we went on pumpkin hunts! Look at us finding them all over the school…

Maybe you could have a go at home at using positional language. How about hiding a favourite toy around the house and asking your child to explain where is, or how about hide and seek giving verbal clues like I am under something, or I am next to something red etc.

Don’t forget to fill in your ‘wow’ home slips when you have done this so we can see what the children have achieved with you at home!
