When the children returned to school after the Christmas holidays something very strange had happened… Our Early Years Unit became an icy wonderland with many things turned to ice, we even had some frozen ‘dinosaur eggs’!

Some children thought it might have been the giant Elsa who froze our things, others thought it was because it had been really cold over Christmas. Who knows how it got there…

Throughout the week we found a variety of different frozen and snowy items and we worked hard to try to free them. We had to think of our own ways to free the objects and learnt so much about melting!

We began making our very own igloo… any more 4 pint milk bottles which you are throwing away would be gratefully received please to finish the project!

This week we will be writing about the ice and how it felt; maybe at home you could have a go at talking about the ice experience we had.

Who knows what will happen next!
