As part of our Science unit looking at animals and their life cycle, we investigated metamorphosis. This is where some animals completely change their appearance e.g. frogs or butterflies. We then went to the pond to see if we could see any examples. We found a few tadpoles and some other creatures too!

As part of our work based around The Highwayman, we have been creating artwork based on the poem. We focussed on the lines:

The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees,

The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas,

The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor

These are the first attempts in our Art books and we will be having another go later in the term.

As part of our work on Ancient Greece, the children were investigating the Trojan War. We freeze-framed key moments in the story and the children then decided to join them all together in a mannequin challenge.

Look out for: soldiers getting ready for battle; the Trojans pulling the horse and the final battle scene between the Greeks and the Trojans.

Today in Science, Raccoons were looking at why the moon appears to change shape throughout the course of the month. We looked at the different phases of the moon and then had a go at recreating this…with Oreos!
