We tried to show how big the Milky Way was. If mercury was 58cm from the sun then Neptune was 45metres away!!

Over the next few weeks, Year 5 will be taking part in some fitness sessions with Pompey in the community. This will involve learning about how the body works and then enjoying  some PE lessons too.

In our Science lessons, we have been investigating water resistance. We have designed and made our own boats and we used a fan to blow them across the water tray.

As part of our World War 2 topic, we visited Hayling Island to look at the Heritage trail. We stopped to read a bit of our book at the COPP Memorial. Our challenge is to read in different and unusual places.

In Raccoons class we have been making parachutes. We thought about the design of our parachutes and then used a range of different materials to create them. We then dropped them from the wall bars to see how they would work. Some fell quickly and others fell more slowly. Here are some photos.
